Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology San Francisco, CA

Join a dynamic inpatient cardiology team in San Francisco, California, where you'll support adult patients with complex cardiac and concurrent medical conditions in a collaborative hospital setting. • Setting: Inpatient, Hospital Non-ICU Cardiology
• Location: San Francisco, CA (California)
• Start Date: 08/31/2026
• Duration: 23 weeks
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00-19:30)
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Weekends and holidays required; typically 2-3 weekend shifts per month
• Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days

• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient cardiology experience required
• At least 1 year of experience managing inpatient medicine patients required
• Experience in cardiac critical care, cardiac procedure care, or cath lab settings may be considered
• Board certification required: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC
• Active California license or willingness to obtain California licensure
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• All certifications must be AHA-approved
• California DEA with Schedule 2/2N required
• Strong clinical documentation skills, including progress notes and discharge summaries
• Experience with complex discharge coordination and interdisciplinary care preferred

• Round with the attending physician and support daily inpatient cardiology care
• Manage general cardiology patients with concurrent medical conditions such as heart failure, diabetes, and renal disease
• Write progress notes, history and physicals, and discharge summaries
• Coordinate consults, admissions, and multidisciplinary rounds
• Support discharge planning with nursing, social work, case management, physical therapy, and pharmacy teams
• Receive new admissions every other day
• May assist with post-cardiac procedure service coverage
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital environment
