Job Description:
About Abridge Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of
powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered
platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving
clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to
focus on what matters most—their patients. Our enterprise-grade
technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into
structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations.
Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we
are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground
truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As
pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the
industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across
health systems. We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI
scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working
together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have
offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo
neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh. The Role
Abridge's Core Product Experiences pillar is the foundation of
everything we do — the documentation and workflow experiences that
clinicians interact with every day, and the engine that drives
adoption, retention, and expansion across our customer base.
Deployed across 250 health systems, Abridge has powered over 80
million clinical conversations — and that number is accelerating.
Yet the opportunity ahead is massive: clinicians see the potential
to accelerate more of their workflows through AI, health system
expectations are growing, and the competitive landscape is
intensifying. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful impact on
clinicians' lives, at scale, across some of the largest health
systems in the United States. We are looking for a Product Manager
to own product strategy and execution for a core product area.
You'll build the workflows, systems, and AI-generated artifacts
that help clinicians with their daily lives — whether preparing for
visits, completing documentation, or reducing administrative burden
after the patient leaves. You'll do this across care settings:
ambulatory, emergency, and inpatient. This is a role for a builder
— someone with strong product taste, deep user empathy, and the
drive to ship experiences that clinicians love. You'll spend
significant time with physicians, and care teams to understand how
they actually work, then translate those insights into product
decisions that move our most important metrics. You'll work across
ML, engineering, design, clinical science, and commercial teams to
deliver outcomes features. What You'll Do Own product strategy for
a Core Product area. Define the vision, roadmap, and success
metrics for your domain — whether that's note quality, clinical
workflows, personalization, or care settings. Prioritize ruthlessly
based on user impact, competitive dynamics, and data. Go deep with
clinicians. Conduct hands-on user research — shadowing clinicians
in exam rooms, watching them interact with notes, understanding the
friction they face across specialties and care settings. Turn those
insights into product conviction. Ship high-quality clinical
workflows. Partner with engineering, design, and ML to build
experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and clinically useful.
Sweat the details — you care about the difference between a note
that's "fine" and one that makes a clinician trust the product.
Integrate deeply with EHR environments. Work across Epic and other
EHR surfaces to ensure Abridge workflows fit seamlessly into
existing clinical routines. Understand the constraints and
opportunities of embedded vs. standalone experiences. Define
metrics and drive outcomes. Establish clear KPIs — adoption,
retention, encounter share, quality scores — and use data to
evaluate what's working. Build a culture of measurement and
iteration on your team. Navigate ambiguity and move fast. Create
structure and clarity in areas where the right answer isn't
obvious. Form hypotheses, test them quickly, and update your
approach when the data says you're wrong. What You Bring 5 years of
product management experience shipping products that users love,
with a track record of owning product areas end-to-end. Builder
mentality. You've personally driven products from discovery through
launch and iteration. You care about craft and quality in what you
ship. Strong user empathy and product taste. You instinctively know
the difference between a product that works and one that delights.
You've built that instinct through direct, repeated exposure to
users. Healthcare or clinical workflow experience strongly
preferred. You understand how clinicians work, how health systems
buy, and why healthcare products are hard to get right. Comfort
with ambiguity. You can take a messy problem space and create a
clear roadmap without waiting for perfect information.
Cross-functional credibility. You can go deep with ML engineers on
model tradeoffs, partner with design on interaction details, and
present strategy to health system executives. You earn trust
through competence and follow-through. Bonus Points If… You have
built ML/AI-powered products and understand how to design around
model capabilities and limitations. You have worked with Epic or
other EHR platforms and understand what it takes to build great
embedded experiences. You actively use AI tools in your own work —
prototyping, analysis, writing, coding — and have strong intuition
for how AI products should behave and where they fall short. You
have a technical background (engineering, CS, or similar) and are
comfortable going deep on system design, data models, and technical
tradeoffs with engineering teams. Why Work at Abridge? At Abridge,
