Come join us and help shape the future!WSP is currently initiating a search for a RESIDENT ENGINEER- TRANSIT/RAIL for Antioch, CA. Actual reporting site will be throughout the SF Bay Area depending on client needs.JOBSUMMARY:Guides and coordinates a team of construction field inspectors on critical Transit/Rail infrastructure projects. The candidate must demonstrate a solid knowledge of civil, electrical construction, and good engineering judgment in providing oversight and inspection of engineering projects of significant importance.Duties andResponsibilities:Maintain Client satisfaction of construction inspection and monitoring servicesDirect and manage a team of construction inspectors and engineersReview and respond to contractor requests for informationEnforce compliance with the construction contract documents, per Transit/Rail Agency Specifications and ManualsMonitoring Construction in a transit/rail operating environmentObserve contractor performance for compliance with project safety protocolInteract with construction contractors in performance of Quality Assurance inspectionsTrack and Monitor Contractors schedule for complianceReview Notice of Potential Claims (NOPC) and provide recommendations, review contractors Contract Change Orders (CCO's) requests, and negotiate CCO's.Monitor the Contractors safety complianceConduct weekly meeting with Contractor, Utilitiy companies and Stake holdersMaintain schedule, budget and profitability of assigned projectsPrepare monthly reportsTrack construction progress and verify contractor paymentsTalent is the essence of meeting our client's objectives, goals and challenges. If this sounds like a fit for you, we'd love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.Job RequirementsMinimumQualifications:Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical engineeringMinimum 17 years of construction management experienceMinimum 5 years of either traction power or communications experienceExperience on Transit/Rail Projects preferred, but not requiredRegistered Professional Engineer preferredExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesMust successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
