Come join us and help shape the future!This OpportunityWSP is currently searching for a part-time Bus Vehicle Quality Assurance Representative to work at several potential locations in the United States . Specifically, WSP is seeking candidates to represent Transit Agency procurements of new buses and re-furbishment of older buses as part of a midlife program and Qualaity Assurance audit inspections at various locations in the US.This position reports to the Bus Fleet Group Manager , within WSPs Bus Fleet/Zero Emission Group . The selected individual will be responsible for providing part time, as needed technical expertise for the Bus Fleet/Zero Emission Group conducting resident inspection services for new bus manufacturing as well as inspection services at Agency locations. Inspections at Agency locations will be on various bus types including various length transit buses, commuter coaches, para- transit vehicles and support vehicles. The selected candidate will be supporting WSPs clients engaged in the procurement, maintenance and operation of bus fleets. The selected candidate must be capable of travel and short to long-term work periods including working nights. If this sounds like a fit for you, wed love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.Your ImpactDuties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweekOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirementsAbility to conduct Quality Assurance audits during the manufacture of new buses or re-furbishment during a bus midlife programAbility to read and understand technical specifications and drawings, discern that vehicles are being built to specification, and negotiate compliance with manufacturers.Ability to conduct full audit and inspection of buses, coaches and other transit vehicles at client locations and recognize and report defects.Ability to interpret project requirements and proceduresAbility to read and understand specifications, electrical and mechanical drawingsAbility to use measurement tools in the performance of inspection tasksAbility to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.Detailed reporting of all findingsComputer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)People and communications skills working with clients, contractors, and colleaguesExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesThis role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. "Who You AreRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience relevant to this position. Relevant experience includes conducting resident inspection services for new bus manufacturing as well as inspection services/re-furbishment of older buses.Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline or equivalent working experience .Must be capable of travel and short to long-term work periods including working nights.Experience in bus fleets and associated specifications, inspection process, safety standards such as the North American Out of Service Criteria, and recommended maintenance practices is mandatory.Preferred Qualifications10+ years of experience working with large transit vehicles/busses.Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.Additional RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
