Group/DivisionWith over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLAs Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.Technically lead development of optical systems to enable next generation of wafer inspection tools; design of prototype bench upgrades to improve imaging performance; develop optical system architecture and specifications of future tools, select optical designs to improve throughput and performance, evaluate tolerances and light budget, develop optical models of light source for raytracing, perform stray light analysis, coordinate technology development with partners.
Qualifications/Desired Skills: 1. Solid understanding of a design, tolerancing and testing of optical systems and modules2. Experience in complex optical system modeling and performance analysis using one or more optical modeling software such as Zemax (incl. sequential and non-sequential ray tracing), physical-optics modeling (incl. diffraction, interference, scattering) and Fourier analysis 3. Experience in assembly and alignment of optical systems and modules4. Basic knowledge of manufacturing techniques of optical components5. Critical thinking and problem-solving
Minimum QualificationsDoctorate (Academic) OR work experience of 3 years in any of the following fields: Optics, Optical Engineering, Laser Physics, Engineering Physics Plasma physics, or similar, Masters Level Degree or work experience of 6 years, Bachelors Level Degree or work experience of 8 years
